Con Aftermath

I gave my fan panel on Japanese swords today at Animazement. It went pretty well, even though I didn't have any of my A/V stuff because I couldn't get internet.

I got some new thingso in the Dealer's room; an awesome yukata and hakama pants, as well as a few T-Shirts. I'd planned to get a bokken or something today but the dealer's room was closed by the time my panel was over.

Sadly, I didn't manage to get many photos of all the awesome costumes I saw, I was too busy being in awe and working on my presentation.

Overall, it was a ton of fun, and I'd love to go back next year. If Xav wants me to do another panel, I'd gladly accept.

Must finish the work... must... gyaaaah!

My left eye is itchy, so very itchy and a little swollen. Allergies have always made my eyes itchy but never like this.

Hate life.

Managed to procure a Windows 7 install and bangjax a USB hard drive into pretending to be a bootable installation disk. I'm sticking it on my craptop, which seems to not have a fully functioning superdrive anymore.

Should give me something to play with tomorrow. Although it has been "completing installation" for some time now, I hope it's not broken already. Nope, it's good!

I really don't want to go to work today. I had this amazingly bad dream last night about a night at work that just never ended. The store was actually closed and my department was buttoned up and everything and people just kept fucking showing up!

Really weird dream, I hope it wasn't actually a prophetic vision.
Holy crap! So apparently a pipe burst and was flooding our neighbors' basement. They closed off the pipe so at least it's stopped that, but it also means our water is shut off until it gets fixed. I've been showering over at the neighbors' place; they're nice people, they gave me chicken.

In other news, new Metallica album out soon and I am already jonesin' for it. Just listened to a sample of the single on iTunes and I am hard pressed not to purchase it. This CD is gonna rock.

The flea market always delivers.

Lauren and I hit up Smilie's today and wandered around for a bit. She got a pitcher plant and a little window prism.

My haul however:
-Cheap all-metal airsoft pistol $10
-3lb. Cross-peen hammer $2 Needs new handle and some love from the flap-wheel
-Balisong knife made in Solingen $3 Needs a new edge put on it
-Metal slide rule for Trigonometry $10

all in all not a bad day at the flea market. There where some other power tools for good prices, but I didn't want to deal with moving them across the state when I finish up school here.

So, it's nice to know that my UPS works. It's also nice to know what the alarm sounds like. I kept hearing this weird beeping noise thinking, "The hell? What's making that noise."

I could hear my computer running, so when the light above the stove went out I assumed it had died. xD

If you've ever seen The 13th Warrior...

then perhaps you're familiar with this speech;
Lo there do I see my Father

Lo there do I see my Mother, my sisters, and my brothers

Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning

Lo they do call to me

They bid me to take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever!

It never fails to send chills down my spine.
